So your first thought is probably Weed or Dandelion. As a grown up our perspectives change about a lot of things. I love watching the world through the eyes of my kids. Lillian loves these weeds! They are Wish Flowers! We had not been out in the yard for a few days and it warmed back up last week so out we went. The first thing she grabbed was her hoppity ball and screamed Wish Flowers! She was so excited to see these little flowers awaiting her arrival!
So of course we found every single wish flower and blew them away with as much wind as she could muster. She didn't tire of this activity at all! Once one was done she would spot another and was just as happy with the new flower as the last. As I watched her I couldn't help but wonder how it is that she could find so much pleasure in something I would consider a weed.
So as we head for Thanksgiving celebrations tomorrow I am reminded that although God has allowed many weeds lately He has still given me so much to be thankful for. While life isn't going exactly as I would have planned or like for it to be going I still have a Heavenly Father who sits on the throne in control of my life. How could I not celebrate this and be forever grateful? I am so thankful that He never leaves us or forsakes us. He knows exactly what is going on today and tomorrow, my job isn't to try and fix it all, but to simply trust and obey him. Thank you Lord for loving me and giving me three wonderful gifts who teach me so much about you.
So today if your ground isn't snow covered maybe look for a Wish Flower and remember all the things you have to be thankful for even if they look like a weed.
The Wish Flower!
