Swept Away

Do you ever find yourself swept away by one of life's storms?  Beaten down by the waves, exhausted from being thrown around like a rag doll.  Do you find yourself ever questioning everything you thought was truth?  I am there.  So as I studied this morning I was searching for God to show me his great faithfulness and reassure me that he WILL carry me right now.  Honestly without it I am not sure how I will get through today.  So I thought if I was feeling like this maybe someone else could benefit from the wise words I found in his manual for life.
My God IS Faithful:

Deuteronomy 7:9
"Keep in mind that the Lord your God is the only God.  He is a faithful God who keeps his promises and is merciful to thousands of generations of those who love him and obey his commands."

Psalm 33:4
"The word of the Lord is correct, and everything he does is trustworthy."

Psalm 89:8
"O Lord God of Armies, who is like you?  Mighty Lord, even your faithfulness surrounds you."

Psalm 119:90
"Your faithfulness endures throughout every generation.  You set the earth in place, and it continues to stand."

Psalm 145:13
"Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.  Your empire endures throughout every generation."

1 Corinthians 10:13
"There isn't any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans.  God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist.  But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way to escape."

2 Timothy 1:12
"For this reason I suffer as I do.  However, I'm not ashamed.  I know whom I trust.  I'm convinced that he is able to protect what he had entrusted to me until that day."

2 Timothy 2:13
"If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful because he cannot be untrue to himself."

1 John 1:9
"God is faithful and reliable.  If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we've done wrong."

and finally the two that I needed to read and cling to today:

Psalm 146:5-8
"Blessed are those who receive help from the God of Jacob.  Their hope rests on the Lord their God, who made heaven, earth, the sea, and everything in them.  The Lord remains faithful forever.  He brings about justice for those who are oppressed.  He gives food to those who are hungry.  The Lord sets prisoners free.  The Lord gives sight to the blind people.  The Lord straightens the backs of those who are bent over.  The Lord loves righteous people."

Lamatations 3:21-24
"The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind:  the Lord's mercy.  We were not completely wiped out.  His compassion is never limited.  It is new every morning.  His faithfulness is great.  My soul can say "The Lord is my lot" in life.  That is why I find hope in him."

So today I am going to trust that I still have hope in my God.  He is faithful and reliable and I know he sees my every need for today.  Thank you Lord for never leaving me and carrying me through days I cannot get through by myself.  Thank you for the strength to protect and care for my three wonderful gifts from you.

  1. Check out Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV)

17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
