Moments To Cherish

I thought I would try to highlight a few moments every so often that really made my heart smile.  For me it is easy to focus on the areas we need improvement, so here goes at highlighting the great moments!

**Corban was playing with Lilly in the car on the way to taking him to school.  She had brought lots of "pretties" with her this morning and had given Corban a nice pink beaded bracelet to wear!  He is such a great big brother and proudly wore it!  We pray about our day on the way to school so because of this I had helped Corban to forget he was still wearing the pink braclet.  I even saw it while he was praying and thought I need to remember to have him take that off.  Well I am sure you can guess that we forgot!  So off he went to school wearing this pink braclet.  Now by first grade it really isn't cool to wear your little sisters bracelet all day so I thought for sure it was gone for good.  I figured he would take it off and misplace it or maybe even give it to a girl in his class.  So anyway I came to pick him up from school and I had honestly forgotten by this point anything about the braclelt.  He pulled me off to the side and whispered, "Mom, look I wore Lilly's braclet all day so I wouldn't loose it.  I pulled it up on my arm a little so noone would see it!"  My heart melted!  He knew how disappointed his sister would be, so he kept it close to him all day so he could get it back to her.  What an awesome big brother!  I was so proud of him.  He didn't say anyone picked on him about it, but I gotta wonder!

**Carson got two cookies as a birthday treat from another child in his class.  He asked if he could eat one of them after he ate his lunch all up.  So of course I said he could.  Then he says "And mom, I want to give the other cookie to Lilly, that is IF she eats up all her lunch!"  Again, my heart melted.  I didn't suggest he be kind or prompt him to share with his sister.

**While we were up north we played ladder ball.  Corban was beating everyone except Aunt Taryn.  I asked him if he had played Uncle Jeremy and he said "No."  I told him to ask Uncle Jeremy to play, but he replied that he couldn't ask Uncle Jeremy because "boys can't play boys."  So I of course asked "Didn't you play Grandpa?"  So he replies wilth "Yes, but Grandpa is old and old people can play young people."  He further explained that by old he meant anyone over 60!  Very Funny!

**Corban is dancing away playing a game with me when he says.  "She's a woman", then he get a wierd look on his face and looks at Grandma and Aunt Taryn and says "She's MY Mother!"  Not sure if this was good or bad!?!

**Lillian picks up everything and asks "What does this say?"  So she will pick up her pizza and ask "What does this say?", what she really is asking is what is it?

**I woke Carson up from his nap so that we could go get Corban from school.  Carson doesn't have any hurry in him so I was encouraging him to come quickly.  As I am caring him up the stairs he says "Mom, I was having a dream.  It was a good dream.  Mom, I wasn't done."  I felt so bad that I had to wake him up, but we must pick Corban up from school!

I am sure there is more, but I will start with these!

  3. What sweet stories, there's some good parenting going on at your house. That story would make a really neat children's book - Corban and the Pink Bracelet.
