Our First "Others Day"

Last Monday we had our first "Others Day". We sat down at the start of the New Year and asked the kids what things they would like to do as a family! During December we talked a lot about serving others and helping others. Corban really wanted to continue this and we were all for it! So I have been researching and trying to find opportunities to serve with three small children. No doubt we have an endless supply of places to serve, but the challenge is the kids.

I really wanted the first few things to be something that the kids could connect with. Something or someone they knew and could see the results of what their helping hands meant to that person.

So last Monday night we started a twice a month service to clean in Corban's classroom. So simple and helpful to his teacher. She has so many things to accomplish and by us coming to help she doesn't need to worry about it for that week. Can I just say how proud I was of our kids! They were SO excited to go! We talked a lot about why we were going and what we were going to do. They had so much fun and were looking for more things to do because they didn't want to stop when it was time to go home! Even little miss Lilly got right into it!

This Saturday we are going to see how the mission here works. I think the kids will really have an eye opening experience to see that not everyone has a house to live in and three nice meals a day!

Here are a few pics!
Here all the kids are starting to clean the desks!

Carson asked if he could clean the chairs!
Corban was so excited to use the cleaner that kills all the germs!
Miss Lilly even got into helping!
Good Job Carson!
