Corban has tried out many different sports in the past few years. I think he has found his passion in Soccer! We could see that he seemed to enjoy it more than most of the other sports last year, but didn't quite realize how much until this summer. He did a soccer camp and most of the days were in the 90's. Each day he came home sad that it was over and super excited to return the next day. I stayed and watched one day and couldn't believe how fast the coaches had earned Corban's respect and how much he was learning. The coaches were great at correcting the kids, but building them up as they went along.
Well the week came to an end and Corban was asked by the coaches to join them on their club soccer team. He begged us to let him play. This is a big commitment and requires a lot of practice. He is at a new school this year with harder school work and we were a little unsure if he could keep up with it all. We did let him and he is loving it. He is doing great. Absolutely exhausted on the soccer nights, but loving it!
We had family here over the weekend and they came to a game. His uncle couldn't believe how tired Corban was after the game. He has found his passion and gives his all! He is learning so many great things from the team. I am excited to see him grow and improve! I love watching him play. It is so much more exciting than the first few years where all they do is chase the ball around for an hour!
They got to request what number they wanted to be. Corban asked to be Number 1 and he got it! He is number 1 in my book! I might be just a bit biased though!
We have been talking a lot about giving it our all when we are in the game! I love this face and determination!
