"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
Are you good at this? The being still part? I am not. I am a mover, a talker, an action kind of gal. I don't like sitting still and I don't like waiting. Hmmm..... How well does that fit into God's plan? The bible study that I am in right now gives you a soul training exercises each week. Basically disciplines that would be helpful if incorporated into life. Guess what? This week is about being still. So lets just say I am learning a few things this week. The second part of the discipline is to notice the world around you while you are being still.
Most mornings I am up getting things ready for the day before the kids are up. This is the way I find the quiet time I need for each day. Well just the other morning I was taking Jada out to go potty and the view above is what greeted me at the door. WOW! What an amazing view of God's beautiful landscape! I ran back in and got the camera because I was so thankful for his creation. We live in such a beautiful area that I know I often take it for granted. We had some family over a few weeks ago and one of them just moved here from Mexico. We asked him how he liked it and he said "It is green, everything is very green here." Yeah it is! How easy it is to overlook all the beauty God puts on display everyday because I am "busy".
So I will challenge you too! Take some time to be still and notice what is going on around you. It could be quite breathtaking!
