For many years I have wanted to do an Advent Calender for the kids, but it seems I always run out of time. So this year I started in November to make sure I got it done. I have seen some really nice idea's but many of them cost quite a bit, so I was on the hunt for one I could do fairly inexpensive. Well I think this qualifies! I went to Goodwill and got a frame for $2 and got bookmarks from JoAnn's for $2. I first used big clothes pins, but they looked funny so I picked up a pack of small ones for $1.50 So for a whole $5.50 I made something the kids are already loving!
I just folded the book marks in half and put a square of scrapbook paper on the front. Inside I just have a note for the activity for the day. The kids are LOVING opening the activity and doing it each day! I am so happy with how it turned out! Funny how they are more concerned with the activity for the day and not the amount of money I spent on it. So I will keep you posted on some of our activities! It had better snow a little or some of the activities will need backups.
Great job! Did you see the Advent Calendars Amanda & Meghan made? At first I thought you used their idea and wondered how on earth you put it together so fast. You girls all impress me. Would love to see more on what the kids are doing through out the month.
