Corban turns 8!

The last eight years have flown by so quickly yet I can hardly remember not being a mom.  This little man has taught me so much and continues to amaze me.  I absolutely LOVE this little man and LOVE being his mom.  I am so very blessed to get to raise this guy and pray that he continues to grow in his love for the Lord and continues to love himself!

Corban is such a happy person!  He has an ability to make people smile like no other.  He is often thinking of other people.  From the first few times we went to the park it became clear that he would always try and find the person who needed help and help them.  He continues to tell me about injustices that happen at school and what he thinks could be done to fix them.  I love his heart!

He is such an awesome big brother!  Just this morning before leaving for school he was curled up on the couch with Lillian reading her a book.  The days are long for the other two while their big brother is at school.  Every night I ask the kids what was the best part of your day and I often hear "hanging out with the family tonight" as Corban's answer!  Love that he loves his family and enjoys spending time with us!

He has such a great memory.  He LOVES to learn.  The last two years he has been very upset when school let out for the summer.  He loves his friends and he loves learning.  He has an ability to remember EVERYTHING.  As a mom I will admit this does have its draw backs, but I still love this about Corban.

He lights up my world!  Maybe it is simply because he is older, but I think it is more than just age.  Corban has always been able to read me.  He always knows when something is going on.  This little man has such a soft side and I love it about him.  I love that he still loves to curl up with me and snuggle.  I am sure he won't like that I just told everyone that, but it is one of the many things I love about him.

So happy birthday Corban!  You are the best eight year old a mom could ever hope for.  You challenge me often, make me smile daily, encourage me to be a better mom all the time, and add to the awesome family God has blessed us with.  I pray we have another great year ahead of us!  Love you with all my heart bud!
