Be Still

I have loved the song "I am God" by Kirk Franklin for a while.  It has a great beat for running and I have used it for that.  The kids love to listen to this in the car too.  I recently put it in and was listening to the words with a bit of a new perspective.  Maybe I really never fully listened to the words or maybe I am simply in a different spot now.

He sings of the struggle of giving God everything.  Complete Surrender.  Not giving it and then taking it back, but truly leaving it with God for God to handle.  Are you good at this?  I am not.  I am getting better and I am learning to truly surrender to what God has planned for me even if it isn't what I would have picked.  I want to be completely still before Him showing Him that I do trust Him.  Maybe this song will mean something to you today.

So today Lord I sit before you STILL.  Ready for today, not worried about tomorrow or what happened yesterday, simply ready for today.  Keep changing me and loving me.  Give me the peace, strength, and patience to remain still before you alone.  I will continue to surrender to you and realize I cannot do this alone.
