Sharpen your pencils...

We are officially into the 2011/12 school year.  Each of the kids has started school.  They are all loving it.  The boys are getting used to riding the bus and the routine of school.

Lillian is loving 3's school.  The first day I was the helper for the day so she was excited to go today without mom.  She told me Tuesday that school was fun, but would be more fun without Mom.  Girl is independent!

Corban is back to his love of learning. They really push reading at home in third grade. So the kids have required reading homework, but you can decide how much you want to read. Based on how many minutes you have at the end of the month you qualify for different fun things. Well this kid is out to win. He loves to read anyway and now he has a prize waiting for him. He loves his teacher and his class!

Carson is doing great! He has already gotten three star stickers and is loving his teacher. His teacher plays guitar and incorporates that into their day each day. Carson is a music kid, so this is great. He has had a hard time getting his lunch finished so he is a bit hungry when he gets home.

Now it wouldn't be the first day of school without a cake.  They all loved it.  Carson was pretty sure it was a rocket, but Corban figured out that it was a pencil.  They were all happy to help eat it up for dessert!

The mornings have been pretty cool, so we have been a little bundled up waiting for the bus.  She has been running a bit behind the last few days so we have waiting a while.  It is nice to have a few minutes with them before they have to leave.  I love hearing their prayers for the day.  So here is to a great start to the school year!
